Saint Marguerite Catholic School Jesus calls us to teach the children how to be
Disciples of Christ who thirst for knowledge and are active believers who
strive to improve themselves and their world. St.
Marguerite Catholic School joyfully announces that we have received a very
generous grant from Mr. Sam Skaggs. This grant will enable us to
complete construction and furnish Phase I of the new building. Mr.
Skaggs has graciously bestowed an additional grant to allow us to design,
construct, and furnish Phase II, as well as additional space for a library
and science lab (Phase III). We are so grateful for this overwhelming
blessing and for the faith in our Parish and School Communities that a grant
of this kind expresses. We, the Parish and School need to complete our
pledged support to the building and continue to support the building program;
however, this grant will enable us to finish so many years sooner than otherwise
possible. We have one year remaining on our Capital Campaign and need
to raise at least $250,000 to finish Phase I and fulfill our pledges to the
new building. With the help of Mr. Skaggs this dream of a complete
school and education center is now a reality. The Diocese has shown its
support for us by approving this grant and validating that we, the Parish and
School Communities can make this vision come to life. We, the Parish
and School are united in our mission to provide the children of Tooele with
the best Catholic Education possible. We ask that you join us in
thanking Mr. Skaggs for his incredible generosity. FACTS Registration FACTS

with students in reading group after school please be advised that your other
children are welcome to stay only if they help with reading group or with a
teacher doing homework. We have way
too many students hanging out while their siblings are in reading group. It is too hard to keep track of who has been
picked up. Accreditation Process and Introduction of
Schoolwide Learning Expectation It is our pleasure to present our new Schoolwide Learning Expectations (SLE’s). The Faculty and Staff of St. Marguerite Catholic School have worked very diligently to develop these expectations over the period of the past several months. I hope that as you review them, you will become more aware of our on-going “Self-Study” being conducted as part of our upcoming accreditation visit next year. As many of you are aware, St. Marguerite Catholic School is accredited by the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA). As part of our accreditation process, we are required to conduct a self-study, the purpose of which is to evaluate our effectiveness at improving student learning. In order to measure our effectiveness, we are asked to first articulate several SLE’s. These SLE’s are to serve as statements of what students should know, learn, value, and be able to do at graduation. They describe our graduates in a brief synopsis. In order to draft these SLE’s, the staff and faculty met several times and discussed what our learning outcomes are for our students. We then collaboratively developed these statements to represent the focus of our school community. We have included a copy of them for you to keep and ask that you help us reinforce these with your students. As the accreditation process continues, you will be solicited for your input and asked to help us assess how we are doing in meeting these expectations. As always, I encourage you to pray for us as we undergo this process and know that we hope to continue to improve student learning. Our goal is to make St. Marguerite the best school in the area. With your help, we are well on our way. School-wide Learning
